Summary of Cover


Section one: Contents - covering Household Goods and Personal Property in the home - sum insured selected by you.

Section two: All Risks - loss or damage cover on clothing, personal effects and valuables - sum insured selected by you.

Section three: Money - up to £300 for loss of money or loss following theft of credit cards (only available in conjunction with Section Two).

Section four: Personal Liability - up to a limit of liability of £500,000 plus agreed legal costs.

Section five: Medical and Repatriation Expenses - limits of £100,000 or £250,000 available.

Section six: Personal Accident and Sickness - cover purchased in Units - each unit providing Capital Sums insured of £1,000, and £10 per week for Temporary Total Disablement.

Breakage of articles of a brittle nature
 
Cash currency or bank notes
 
Property despatched as cargo under a bill of lading or airway bill
 
Personal Money Up to £300 Loss of Cash, Bank Notes, or Negotiable Documents.
 
Loss as the result of misuse of Credit Cards by unauthorised persons following loss or theft of the card.
The first £25 of any one occurrence.
 
Loss not reported to the police or in the case of credit cards, the issuing company, within 24 hours of discovery
 
Personal Liability Up to £500,000 plus agreed costs and expenses Legal Liability to pay compensation to third parties arising from accidental bodily injury or property damage.
 
Payment of costs and expenses incurred with the written consent of Underwriters in defence of any claim
Liability for injury or damage arising from the carrying on of any trade, business or profession.
 
Liability for loss or damage to property in the custody or control of the assured or members of the household
 
Medical & Repatriation Expenses Limit of £100,000 or £250,000 as selected The costs of:
  • Medical treatment provided by qualified registered Medical Practitioners, Surgeons and other Specialists.
  • Hospital, nursing home and home nursing.
  • Emergency treatment.
  • Repatriation if deemed medically necessary.
  • Transportation for returning the body or ashes.
The first £50 of any one occurrence.
 
Pre-existing conditions
 
Dental Treatment, normal eye and ear tests.
 
Pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage or abortion.
 
Winter Sports, mountaineering, motor cycling or racing are normal exclusions but may be included subject to underwriters consideration
 
AIDS related complaints
 
Personal Accident & Sickness Units of £1,000 as selected
 
NB Child Benefit limited - see next column
In the event of accidental death or injury, 1 UNIT of Benefit provides:- Death - £1,000.

Total Loss of one or both Eyes, or one or both Hands, or one or both Feet: - £1,000
(Child - £1,000 maximum)
 
Permanent Total Disablement: - £1,000
(Child - £1,000 maximum)
 
Temporary Total Disablement: - £10 per week for up to 52 weeks
(Child benefit - not available)
 
In the event of sickness, 1 UNIT of Benefit provides:-
 
Temporary Total Disablement - £10 per week for up to 52 weeks. (Child benefit - not available)
